According to our bank branch practice if the drawer has written "Self" his sign should or must be on the reverse side of the cheque though he had given the cheque to the bearer as it confirmes that the drawer knows that his account going to be debited. It is one kind of surety itself and we take two signature of the withdrawer with his contact number. If drawer has written or issued a cheque in the name of Mr.X then Mr.X can only withdraw the cash. No other person would have a right to withdraw the amount.
