  1. Respected all, I want to know 2 points 1. If a customer is no more alive should we pass his cheques (cash and clearing ) after his death when cheque date is after his death date but they haven't informed the branch staff about the death but we know that he is no more. 2. Can we do rtgs when we received request from customer on mail bt cheque and form is not signed. Does it involve the liability of clerk?

  2. 1. You must freeze the account in case of death of customer and not allow any transaction in account.2. RTGS to be done only if chq and form is duly filled and signed by customer and presented in branch.

You must not honour the cheque if you know client is deceased.Ask for death certificate from nominee in account and settel the amount as death claim. You may honour the instruction on registered e mail id with bank only incase customer has signed email or fax indemnity to do so.
